How to Prep Your RV For Spring
Now that the weather is warming up and spring is just around the corner, it’s time to pull your RV out of storage and start getting it ready for the warm weather! However, if you’re not familiar with RV maintenance and care you may feel a little lost, unsure how to tackle preparing your RV for the changing seasons. Thankfully, we’ve written up the helpful tips below to ensure that—come springtime—your RV is back in top condition.
Clean Your RV
Before you pull your RV out of winter storage, you’ll need to give your rig a thorough scrub both inside and out. To start, wash the exterior of your model—making sure to apply a protective wax and polish—before turning to the interior of your RV. Open all doors, windows, and cabinets to help air out your model, and be sure to examine your rig for any signs of pests or unexpected damages before following up with a quick vacuum and light dusting.
Engine Care
If your RV has an engine, you’ll want to change the oil, flush and refill the fuel tank, and check various fluids—such as your brake or transmission fluid—for any signs of discoloration, dirt, or debris.
However, if your RV doesn’t have an engine that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook for maintenance. You’ll still need to examine and refill each one of your tires, flush the water tank and run the pump, as well as inspect the exterior of your RV for any holes or cracks that may need to be patched before you hit the open road come springtime.
